good runs, bad UPS

I took a trip out to Rockford, IL to visit and train with my high school team mate Peter. It's rural and hilly in that area so we were able to get gobs of good miles in once Pete stopped whining.

Most of the runs were too fast - most under 7:00, some way under - and our long run sputtered to an early end. But overall we got a lot done and last week was the first time I've been over 70 miles since B****n training. The plan is to stay over 70 per week for 3 more months. Ugh.

I got to fly in a single engine Cessna on Sunday. I made a joke over the radio that I've been wanting to do forever and it went over good with the other pilots in our airspace. I'd tell you the joke but you kind of have to be in the air to appreciate it.

I also helped Pete with some moderate-to heavy-duty landscaping. Where I come from, people think of landscaping as an odd-to borderline-ridiculous way to spend a weekend. But it doesn't lose its novelty if you only do it once every two years, so I kind of had fun with it actually. This once.
